Classes
Laughter in Rope - Does BDSM play really have to be serious? This is a class for those of us who choose to incorporate a lighter side into our rope practice. Come and learn ways to incorporate laughter into your scenes, as we share stories, games, and tips from our experience. Co-taught with Lochai
Switches Roundtable - A discussion of issues regarding switching. Pros and cons of switching publicly and/or privately, misconceptions about switches, what triggers switches to go into a top/bottom space, other labels switches identify with, and other topics as they come up. Group participation will take this discussion in whatever direction participants take us.
Stretching for Play - An interactive demonstration sharing stretching techniques for tops and bottoms, since we all know that a knotted muscle can quickly end a scene. Stretching for bottoms will include stretches to extend ability to remain standing, on knees, in bondage, or other positions for a length of time. For tops it will include stretches to loosen wrists, shoulders, and backs for increased comfort and endurance.
Waxing: Hair Removal - Want to make your mark on your bottom without making it permanent? Looking to find a different sensation technique? Or something new to increase the fear factor? This class will cover the basic steps involved in large area hair removal. Come and see how wax can be used to evoke sensations that your bottom has not experienced during play, and take a little more control over their grooming.
Creating a Connection – You have found someone to play with and negotiated a scene. Now what? This will include a discussion of pre- and post-play rituals for centering yourself and connecting with your new (or long-time) partners.
Playing with Yourself – Don’t have a partner, but still want to play? Are there types of play that you enjoy but your partner does not? This class includes techniques to help you scratch your own itch, from orphan age play to impact play, to needles, etc. Setting up a play space in public that will not be intruded upon will also be discussed.
Quicker Rope - Get ‘em tied. This class demonstrates a few quick, basic techniques to get you started. As time allows, class will go into variations of these techniques, and how to modify them for different bottoms. This is an interactive class, so please bring rope if you have it.
Using Negotiation – So, you just negotiated the most amazing scene. How do you get from negotiating a scene to actually having one? This class will go over everything from some different styles of negotiation to incorporating the things that you have negotiated into your scene. We will also take a look at how to creatively work with physical limitations, specifically in regard to rope. Feel free to bring a partner or come alone and potentially make some new connections in class!
Exchanging Power with the Rope – Bondage is not only about connecting with your partner, but also with the rope itself. Since rope maintains contact with both the person binding and the person being bound, a different power dynamic comes into play. Let’s explore how rope can act as both dominant and submissive within a scene, and ways to use this knowledge to enhance your connection during play.
Putting the Knots Together – Do you get frustrated doing rope bondage from a book? Have you learned some rope techniques, but just aren’t sure how to incorporate them into a scene? Have you given up on pulling out your ropes because you haven’t found a way to use them that works for you? Then this class is for you! We’re going to experiment with using a few basic ties in different scenarios and adjusting them to fit individual needs. If you can tie your shoelaces, you can do rope bondage.
Self Bondage - Do you want to be able to scratch your own itch? Whether it’s for personal play, masturbation, as service for a long distance partner, or any other reason, self bondage is a beautiful form of self expression. In this class, we will focus on ties that can be done on our own bodies, including cuffs, chest harnesses, hogties, and other ties as time permits. Please bring 3-4 pieces of 25-30ft rope, and wear comfortable clothing, as this is a hands-on class.
Poly for Porn Stars - In this class, we will discuss strategies for having a successful poly relationship, with a focus on relationships involving individuals who work in the adult industry. Come and discover ways to communicate your needs and set boundaries as we take a look at communication strategies, negotiation, and getting what you need out of your poly. Although this class will address ideas specific to people working in the sex industry, the information included can benefit anyone curious about or involved in a polyamorous lifestyle.
Responsibilities of a Rope Bottom - In a rope scene, both the bottom and the top are active participants. In this class, we will go over skills that bottoms need in order to engage more effectively in their scenes. We will discuss communication, body awareness, stretching, and more. Come prepared for some light physical participation, and be ready to have fun!
