Janice Stine is a sadomasochist with a love of the absurd, for whom the conventions of the scene are not hard and fast rules, but rather tools that she can mold and use to create something that is all her own. An avid learner, she loves to take things that she has learned, put her own twist on them, and share those skills and lessons with others so they can use them on their own journey. She has been presenting locally and nationally for the past five years, and is currently a lead educator for Bondage Club Baltimore. Her classes range from communication and negotiation to stretching to bondage from both sides of the ropes, among other topics. Her essay, “Exchanging Power with the Rope,” can be found in the book Rope, Bondage, and Power. Additionally, she volunteers and assists in the organization of both local and national events.
